Nebraska Bill of Sale

A bill of sale is a document used frequently in private sales. A private sale does not involve a dealership but an independent seller. Though a bill of sale is not legally required in Nebraska, completing a bill of sale is recommended whether you are the buyer or seller of a car. A bill of sale lists important information that allows for legal recourse if either party suffers any damages (e.g. the buyer finds the car to have several significant defects.) The bill of sale should include the names, addresses, phone numbers, and signatures of all parties involved, the license plate and vehicle identification associated with the car, the vehicle's make, model year, and body type, and an accurate odometer reading. An accurate odometer reading can be verified with a reliable VIN verification service.
