Nebraska Organ Donation

By becoming an organ donor, you offer the timeless gift of life to those most in need. Organ donors saved 28,000 lives in 2013. However, 18 people on average die each day while waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. And while there are more organ donors than individuals awaiting transplants, approximately 120,000 die each year. If more individuals signed up to be organ donors, those awaiting transplants would have a better chance of finding a compatible organ donor. In registering as an organ donor, you can offer life-saving organs and tissue that can enhance up to 50 lives. There is no age restriction for those who wish to become organ donors in Nebraska, but individuals under the age of 18 must have their parent/guardian's consent.
