Accident Coverage

Accident coverage is a useful type of insurance many Nebraska residents utilize. Accidents that occurred in Nebraska in 2013 cost a total of more than $630 million. Furthermore, officials estimated that if nearly 40 percent of Nebraska motorists did not have accident coverage, the costs could easily have eclipsed the billion-dollar mark. The massive costs of these accidents strain the finances of both the public and private sector and affects state tax revenue. Nebraska is one of the most dangerous states to drive in, ranking eighth in traffic collisions and fifth in DUI arrests. The majority of accidents occurred in the counties of Douglas, Lancaster, and Sarpy. The most dangerous roadway in Nebraska has been and continues to be Interstate 80.
